FIRST ATTACKS BY AMERICAN BOMBERS. LARGE FORMATIONS EMPLOYED. (“Times-Age” Special.) RUGBY, July 24. An official communique announces: “Large formations of heavy bombers of the United States Army Eighth Air Force attacked targets in Norway in daylight today.” This is the first American raid on the Germans in Norway. Mustangs, Hurricanes and Typhoons continued their harassing tactics against enemy transport in France and Belgium, damaging at least 10 locomotives. Two more were destroyed and three damaged yesterday.
