CHILDREN’S FARES
ON NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. AGE CONCESSION ANNOUNCED BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An announcement of an alteration in the scale of children's fares on the New Zealand Railways was made by the Minister of Railways (Mr Semple) today. He stated that at present children up to three years of age are carried free, and those between the ages of three and twelve years at half-fares. From Monday, August 2, children up to four years of age will be carried free and those between four and fourteen years will be carried at half the adult fare. Similar action has been taken on various railway systems in Australia.
