SOUTH AFRICAN ELECTORAL COUNT. SURPRISE MOVE BY DUTCH NATIONALISTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) PRETORIA, July 22. A surprise development in the counting of the votes in the South African general election occurred yesterday when an urgent/application to the Supreme Court to prohibit the chief electoral officer from proceeding with the » counting of soldiers’ votes was granted • in chambers. The application was made on behalf of the Nationalist Party, which alleged irregularities. The Court granted an interim interdict, returnable on August 5 The Nationalist Party alleged that the correct details were not filled in by voters in certain soldiers’ voting envelopes and asked for the rejection of these votes from the count.
