HASTWELLS

WOMEN’S INSTITUTES MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs K. Ngatuere presided over a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Hastwells Women's Institute. It was decided to join the Crippled Children’s Society. The roll call given by Miss 0. Halberg was advertisement slogans. The motto was "Keep your face towards the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.” Competitions for the month were won as follows: —Refooting old stockings: Seniors: Mrs Madsen, 1; Mrs E. Sigvertsen, 2. Juniors: Miss E. Larsen, 1. Best bowl of berries: Miss E. Dick, 1. A game organised by Mrs C. Seymour was won by Mesdames J. Dick and J. Searancke and Miss E. Larsen. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs C. Seymour and Mrs Thorby.
