TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD

DRAMA CIRCLE CONCERT. ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT The Drama Circle of the Masterton Townswomen's Guild presented a most successful concert to a large and appreciative audience in the Methodist Hall last night. The programme was provided entirely by members of the circle led ably by Mrs C. H. Jarvis and their children and those taking part were warmly congratulated on their efforts. The items in the first half of the programme were bright and varied. and in the second half a particularly amusing play was presented. The following was the programme:— Piano duet by Mrs Downes and Master Peter Downes; vocal duet, Misses Heather and Joan Douglas; nursery rhyme parade. Drama Circle members;, violin solo, Master Ron Taylor; violin solo, Mrs Jarvis. Play, “The Sad Affair in Mangle Street,” Mesdames Douglas, Spicer, Taylor. Downes, Watson and Miss Wiltshire; piano solo, Mrs C. Pickering; sketch, “Nature Abhors a Vacuum,” Mesdames Barber and Jarvis; songs, etc., the Whittaker trio; song. “Burlington Bertie,” Mrs Shouler; piano duet, Masters R. Donovan and J. Jarvis; recitation. Miss A. Graham; song, Mrs Spicer; sketch, "References,” Mesdames Brown. Diggle and Graham; piano duet, Mrs Watson and Miss S. Watson; song, Miss J. Douglas.. Mrs S. Barber was the announcer.
