Rifling of Parcels.
Several juveniles have been interviewed by the Masterton police in connection with the rifling of patriotic parcels in Messrs Bullick-Blackmore’s old shop, Queen Street. It is understood that the boys, whose ages range from 16 to 14 years, will appear later before the Juvenile Court to answer charges relating to the offence. The loss of goods, it is stated, is not as serious as was first thought to be the case. The Director of Naval Recruiting advises that men up to 45 years of age are required for the duration of hostilities as signalmen, seamen (Radar), telegraphists, able seamen, engine room, motor and radio mechanics and for harbour defence duties. Particulars are advertised in this issue.
