WEDDINGS

* KJESTRUP—FRENCH. St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, when Margaret Ruth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. French, “Beauley,” was married to Eric Richard, son of Mrs. Kjestrup and the late Mr. J. E. Kjestrup, of Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Tye, of Tinui, and Mr. H. Miller Hope presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was attired in a gown of magnolia lace over satin, cut on classical lines and forming a train. She wore an embroidered tulle veil caught up with a top knot of gardenias, and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Miss Frances French, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She was dressed in a pretty frock of scarlet taffeta cut on flowing lines, with a heart-shap-ed neckline and long sleeves. A halo of cyclamen to match was worn in her hair and she also carried m sheaf of arum lillies. A gold heart-shaped pendant, the gift of the bridegroom, was worn. Mr. J. Bolton carried out the duties of best man. The reception was held at the Savage Club rooms, Masterton, where Mesdames French and Kjestrup received the guests. Mrs.,French wore navy blue with a hat to match and a shoulder spray of pink roses. Mrs. Kjestrup wore black trimmed with white and wore a shoulder spray of scarlet cyclamen. When Mr. and Mrs. Kjestrup left for the north the bride was dressed in a grey ensemble with navy accessories. She also wore a silver fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom.

BOND—RUBY.

A quiet wedding, at which only members of the family were present, took place at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, this morning, when Yolande, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs C. C. Ruby, Cornwall Street. Masterton, was married to Douglas Richard, Second N.Z.E.F., second son of Mr and Mrs R. Bond, Weber. The bridegroom is on furlough from the Middle East. The ceremony was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich.. Mrs C. Good, of Whakatane, was matron-of-honour and the bridegroom’s brother, Mr W. Bond, of Weber, was best man.
