IN THE AMERICAN ARMY METHODS OF “SCREENING OUT BAD ONES.” RECOMMENDATIONS BY SENATE COMMITTEE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 18. The Senate Military Affairs Committee revealed .that more than 7,500 Japanese are in the United, States Army. The committee recommended that naturalised Japanese should be drafted like other Americans. An Army spokesman was quoted as saying he would like to use them as soldiers. The committee pointed out that the War Department had methods for “screening out the bad . ones.” Other recommendations were that disloyal Japanese should.be placed in internment camps, that loyal Japanese should be allowed to work under supervision, and that the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Justice Department, the Army and the Navy should take the responsibility for determining the loyalty of Japanese.
