MARTINBOROUGH CONCERT

. IN AID OF PATRIOTIC FUND. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Thursday the Martinborough Girls’ Concert Party gave a concert in the Town Hall in aid of patriotic funds. A large and appreciative audience was entertained with bright choruses, snappy sketches a Maori action dance, a poi dance, 3 solos, 2 tap dances, elocution, piano and piano-ac-cordion items. A cowboy scene, with the girls in full Western regalia, clustered round a log fire, was one of the most spectacular items on the programme. The girls who took part were the Misses Joyce Grant, June Lynch, Betty Garrity, Margery Mason, Olive Madsen, Joan and Lorna McCardle, Kathleen Turley, Gwenda Smith, Patsy Duff, Nola Prussing, Pauline Trounce, Memory and Rana McKinley, Marjorie McAlpine, Barbara Howat and Shirley Caseley.
