Presbyterian Church Services.

There will be a song service by the Solway College choir at the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church on Sunday. In the evening the Rev A. C. Lane will preach. Services will also be held at Wangaehu (2 p.m.), Alfredton (6 p.m.) and Eketahuna (7.30 p.m.) Dance at Te Ore Ore. There was a good attendance at a dance held in the Te Ore Ore meeting house last night in aid of funds for the Huimai concert party. A Maori orchestra provided the music and supper was served by a committee of ladies.

Work of National Importance. “There is no reason for not removing the economic disabilities of having a large family, so that those who so desire are not placed under an intolerable financial hardship,” said the Rev F. H. Robertson, in an address to the Carterton League of Mothers yesterday. "One thing to be explored is the possibility of making suitable children's allowances on a much more generous and widespread scale than at present. It is the people with families to bring up who need help and it is desirable that there should be some movement to enlist an army of girls to perform this useful work of national importance.” In the speaker’s opinion the infidelity of young married women and engaged girls would not exist if they had a higher standard and a proper attitude to life and to themselves.
