PATRIOTIC SOCIETY 1 I SUCCESSFUL GAMES NIGHT. r I — ((“Times-Age” Special.) The Patriotic Society held a very successful “games night” on Saturday I evening. The winners in the euchre I were: Ladies, Mesdarnes Yarrall and T. Cooper and Miss Cave; men, Mr V. Payne. Donations were received from Mrs J. McDonald 10s and Mr Johnston 3s 6d. In the competitions a bag of flour, donated by Mr Taverner, realised £1 16s and was won by Mr F. Nordloff. A parcel of groceries, donated by Mr H. Percy, realised £2 13s and was won by Joy Payne. The following goods were sold by auction: Apples donated by Mrs W. Edmonds, 11s 6d; vegetables from Mr C. Leach, 12s 6d; pumpkins and honey from Mr H. Percy. 11s 9d; boysenberry plants, Mr H. Percy, ss; a rooster from Mrs J. Koce, 10s. The hostesses were Mesdarnes Dick ens and Cooper. The ladies who are to bake biscuits for overseas parcels this month are Mesdarnes J. Hartley, W. Walker and Hull. The following is a list of those who. did knitting in June: —Mesdarnes Yarrall, E. I. McLean, G. Napier, Cooper, Senr., J. MacDonald, R. Kebbell, J. Koce, G. Godinagh, Ammundsen, Low. Misses E. McLean. N. MacDonald, Joy Payne, Mr John Hull. Personal. Mrs J. Taylor, of Bulls, is the guest of Mrs F. Johnson.
