LATEST OFFICIAL FQRECAST IMPROVEMENT LIKELY. WITH OCCASIONAL SHOWERS. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to fresh southerly winds; strong in exposed positions. Weather dull with occasional rain. Temperatures cool to moderate. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Improving. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 11 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. on Sunday; 128 points on Monday, and 54 points for the 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning. The Waingawa Sub-Station of the P.W.D.' reports as follows for the 24 hours ended today:—Shade temperature, maximum 51, minimum 39; terrestrial, 32; sunshine, 6 minutes; rain, 59 points.
