CURRENT EXPENDITURE
IN THE UNITED STATES. GREAT INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR.. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.22 a.m.) RUGBY, July 9. - The United States Treasury disclosed that the Federal Government spent 1,599 million dollars, or £400,000,000, during the first week of the new fiscal year opening on July 1, ■1943. This is approximately fifty per cent over expenditure in the corresponding week of 1942.
