At the Wellington hospital yesterday the death occurred of Mr David Percy Jones Dixon, formerly of Martinborough, in his 80th year. Mr W. Lee Martin, M.P. for Raglan, suffered a heart seizure in Parliament Buildings at the end of last week, and is a patient in the Lewisham Hospital. His condition has been serious, but it was reported yesterday that it was fairly satisfactory. The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital yesterday of Mr Richard Ernest Martin, at the age of 78 years. Mr Martin, who was born in County Cork, Ireland, had lived in New Zealand for the past 41 years, and had worked on various farms in the Wairarapa. The funeral will leave the chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service, Ltd., following a service at 11 a.m. tomorrow, for the Masterton Cemetery. At the annual meeting of the Pahiatua Rotary Club the office-bearers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mr A. A. Vaughan (formerly of Masterton); vice-presi-dent, Mr H. Knowles Smith; secretary, Mr A. W. Hamilton; treasurer, Mr W. A. Carthew; directors, Messrs R. J. Carruthers, S. T. Tinney and J. C. Davidson; sergeant-at-arms, Mr D. C. Pryor (formerly of Masterton); hon. auditor, Mr S. G. H. Hogg.
