“My Great Chance” Art Union. In the “My Great Chance” art union which was drawn yesterday, “Us and C 0.,” Masterton, won a £5 prize. Labour Party Dance. A most successful dance was held last night by the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. There was a large attendance of dancers. The music was supplied by the “After Beat” Maori orchestra, and extras were played by Priva’te Percy. Mr L. Askew was a capable M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss Larsen and partner. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee.
Workmen’s Friend Building Society. The monthly meeting of the directors of the Workmen’s Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last night, Mr Wm. Kemp presiding. There were also present: Messrs T. B. Braggins, A. V. Dixon, C. W. Walker, E. J. Brown, H. L. Price, S. M. Gilding and A. E. Hubbard. An apology for absence was received by Mr E. H. Morton. The finance report as submitted by the secretary was confirmed. Accounts amounting to £1 12s 6d were passed for payment. Two applications for the release of 'appropriations were approved.
