INDOOR BASKETBALL
BRIGHT AND INTERESTING PLAY LAST NIGHT. INTERHOUSE ASSOCIATION’S COMPETITION. Bright and interesting play was witnessed at the Wairarapa Interhouse Association’s indoor basketball contests in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium, Masterton, last night. C. Smith’s played well to beat Hansell’s, which was a popular, but a surprise, win. Miss Rona Stephenson, of the Physical Welfare Department, and Corporal Mitchell, the popular sports N.C.O. of an Air Force unit, were capable referees. The Interhouse officials carried out their duties in their usual efficient manner.
The results were as follow: — Cathie’s A beat United, 22/2; Rangers and Lancers drew, 10/10; Woolworth’s beat Macduff’s A, 7/6; Borthwick’s beat Cathie’s B, 14/4; Cody’s beat Garages, 18/6; W.F.C.A. beat McKenzie’s, 6/4; Hansell’s B beat Rangers B, 10/8; C. Smith’s beat Hansell’s A, 8/7; Hosiery Mills beat Sparklets, 10/4; Transport beat Macduff’s B, 7/6.
