WEDDING

HATHAWAY—FLAWS.

Knox Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Thursday, when Dora Elaine, youngest daughter of Mr A. D. and the late Mrs Hathaway, “Waipuna,” Martinborough, was married to Lieutenant Eric Munro Flaws, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. P. Flaws, Melrose Crescent, Wellington. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a full skirted gown of pure white georgette over taffeta, with a fan-shaped train worked with true lovers’- knots Her filmy embroidered veil .fell gracefully from a coronet of orange blossoms to form a second train. She carried a shower bouquet of white butterfly cyclamen, heather and maidenhair fern.

The bride was attended by Miss Jean Grant, of Wellington, who wore a dainty frock of sky blue lacquered net over taffeta, finished with blue and pink velvet ribbon at the neckline. Her headdress and bouquet were of pale pink cyclamen, daphne and maidenhair fern and pink heather. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The duties of best man were carried out by Pte. F. Flaws, brother of the bridegroom. The reception was held at the Savage Club rooms, the guests being received by Miss Hathaway, aunt of the bride, and Mrs Flaws, mother of the bridegroom. Miss Hathaway wore a blue and navy ensemble, and Mrs Flaws a grey tailored suit. When Lieutenant and Mrs Flaws left for the north, the bride wore a smart English worsted suit with black accessories.

During the signing of the register, Mr W. Iggulden rendered “I’ll Walk Beside You.”
