KENNEL CLUB

BUSY AND SUCCESSFUL YEAR. RECORDED IN ANNUAL REPORT. During the 1942-43 year the Wairarapa Kennel Club had a busy and successful year, states the annual report of the club. A successful ribbon parade was held on October 16 last, and this was followed by a show on March 20 this year. Seventy-five dogs were entered, and the judge, Mr J. Soler, had a busy day, as the standard of the dogs was high. On November 26 Mr Soler gave an interesting talk on the points of a dog, and on May 25 this year a social evening was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs H. Mackenzie Douglas. The guest of the evening was Mr Soler, who had done so much for the club during the year.

The report expresses the thanks of the club to Mr Soler, to the stewards, to the numerous donors of special prizes for the show, to Mr D. B. Curry, hon. auditor; to Mr S Fletcher, the hon. veterinary surgeon; to the president, Mr Mackenzie Douglas, and to the Press. The president expresses his appreciation to the members of the committee who had worked so well together and kept the unity of the club, thus making all its activities successful.
