BERNING OIL

ON SURFACE OF WATER. USE PROPOSED BY GERMANS AGAINST INVADERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 26. A Stockholm message says that all the entrances to the Atlantic harbours will be barred by a screen of burning oil which will be spread over the surface of the water when an attack is imminent. This will make the passage of any boat impossible. This is stated by the latest issues of German newspapers referring to Dr. Goebbels, who is playing up oil as Germany s new anti-invasion weapon. The German Press also publishes pictures of concrete anti-tank traps guarding the Italian coast.
