HARRIER ACTIVITIES
KIATERE CLUB.
A TRAINING RUN. % training run was held by Members of the Kiatere Harrier Club on Saturday from the Park Oval. The course, laid by the Hays brothers, embraced a good variety of country, covering about 5 miles. A fast pace was set by L. Francis and W. McDonald for’ the first mile. They were closely followed by the rest of the field, led by S.. Hill, K. Bullock and G. Hays. The run-in, held over the last half-mile, resulted in a win for L. Francis, with W. McDonald second and K. Bullock third. At the conclusion of the run, the president, Mr A. L. Askew, on behalf of* members, presented Lieut. L. Francis . with a silver tiki, together with the best wishes of the club, members expressing the hope that it would not be long before the war was brought to a successful conclusion, and Lieut. Francis, with other members, would then return to take an active part in the affairs of the club. Lieut. Francis suitably replied. Next Saturday a sealed handicap will be held, starting from the Park Oval at 2.30 p.m.
