GREYTOWN

PATRIOTIC WORK MEETING OF CITIZENS’ COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Citizens’ Patriotic Committee met last night. Mr A. W. Horton presided. . • The National Utilisation of Waste Materials Committee wrote asking if assistance could be given in repairing garments. It was decided that the local Lady Galway Guild be asked to assist. The Wellington Patriotic Council notified that 150 parcels would be the quota for Grey town, and that these would be packed in Masterton. The ladies from Greytown would assist. Messrs R. O’Neale and J. Coleman offered to provide the transport. The South Wairarapa Working Men’s Club was thanked for a cheque for £2O for the local parcels fund. It was decided to hold a shop day on Friday, July 9. the proceeds to go towards the parcel fund. Miss Higginson stated that the R.S.A. would conduct the competitions , in the evening. The following stall-holders were appointed:—A.D.T, Miss Higginson. Mesdames F. Wood. H. Carter and S. Shedden: produce. Mesdames A. D. Burch. A. Haigh, E. Maddison and R. Anker : cakes. Mesdames R. Beu, E, Richards, A. Gregor, W. Wiggins, J. Kiernan, and J, F. Thompson: plants, Misses Gates and Murray and Mrs Balfour, with power to add. TOWN HALL “SHINING VICTORY,” The outstanding dranfia, “Shining Victory.” starring James Stephenson and Geraldine Fitzgerald, will be shown tonight.
