£6840 INVESTED YESTERDAY masterton figures. BONDS AND WAR SAVINGS IN ADDITION. Yesterday, £6840 was invested in the Third Liberty Loan by way of stock by 32 Masterton and district investors, making the total to date £158,785. In addition, bonds to the value of £923 were sold yesterday and deposits in War Savings accounts amounted to £2211, bringing the grand total to date to £175,334. A meeting of the Masterton War Loan Committee was held yesterday afternoon, the Postmaster, Mr M. M. Simpson presiding in the absence of the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan. Many aspects of the campaign were discussed, including proposals to increase the number of 'individual subscribers to the loan. DOMINION TOTAL OVER £21,000,000 SHORT. SUBSCRIBERS BELOW FIGURE AIMED AT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. With 18 days of the campaign to go, including two Sundays, the Third Liberty Loan is £21,413,640 short of the New Zealand target of £35,000,000. For every working day left an average of £1,250.000 is needed for the loan to succeed. Last night the total was £13,583,360 from 23,922 subscribers, the latter still being far short of the 200,000 aimed at to ensure equal support by all sections of the community. Yesterday the total subscribed was £917,080, from 2369 subscribers.
