GREYTOWN
THE DAIRY INDUSTRY PROSPECTS FOR NEW SEASON. (“Times-Age” Special.) Dairy cows are coming through the winter very well, there having been so far no really cold weather. Preparations are well in hand for the new season in connection with which it is expected there will be a considerable increase in the number of cows in most of the herds in the district. The high grade of the local butterfat and the good margin of profit as compared! with the outlay are considered to be mainly due to the testing of cows and the thorough elimination of “robber” and “boarder” cows from herds. The home of the dairy industry as far as New Zealand is concerned, Greytown still keeps up a high standard for its butter, ranking among the best in the Dominion. The prospects for the coming season are considered to be good.
