INCREASE IN ACCUMULATED LOSS MINISTER UNSYMPATHETIC TO REPRESENTATIONS. Reporting on the result of the year's working of the abattoirs the chairman. Councillor A. D. Low, stated at Ihst night’s meeting of the Masterton Borough Council that the accumulated loss in the appropriation account stood at £1407, an increase of £263 on the previous year's figure. Representations had been made to the Minister of Agriculture to alleviate the position by giving the council authority to increase the hanging fees, which if granted would impose a higher change upon vendors of meat noT using the abattoirs.
