FALL INTO HOT POOL
TWO PERSONS SCALDED. INCIDENT NEAR OHINEMURI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ROTORUA, June 22. Miss June Davidson, aged 24, of Egmont Street, Patea, and residing at Rotorua, and Mr Norman Forbes, aged 23, Blenheim, an Air Force trainee, were admitted to Rotorua Hospital last evening suffering from severe and .extensive scalds. Miss Davidson and Mr Forbes were a little distance ahead of a party of ten persons passing through the thermal area known as the Kuirau Reserve, near Ohinemutu, at 9.30 on Monday night. It was dark and stormy, and the path was narrow and winding. Calls for help brought the main parly hurriedly to the scene. The couple had apparently slipped or blundered into a boiling pool on the edge of the track. They were got out with difficulty, and rushed to hospital. The condition today of both was very critical.
