FEATHERSTON
WARTIME SERVICE “ANY QUESTIONS” SESSION. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the Citizens’ Wartime Service in the Town Hall last evening when an “Any Questions” session was held.
Many questions, relative to religion and life, were received, and the Vicar of Featherston (the Rev J. R. Higgs) and the Presbyterian minister (the Rev H. Bloomfield) endeavoured to answer them.
The combined choirs were, as usual, in attendance, and representatives of the Home Guard, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides were present. RED CROSS SOCIETY ENJOYABLE EUCHRE PARTY. An enjoyable euchre party was held by the local sub-centre of the Red Cross Society yesterday afternono. Mrs Kinsey was the winner at cards. The prize donated by Mrs Kinsey for competition was won by Miss Nix. COSY THEATRE “TO THE SHORES OF TRIPOLI.” The most brilliantly coloured picture ever brought to the screen, “To the Shores of Tripoli,” will be shown tomorrow night. It is the stirring story of the U.S. Marine Corps with John Payne, Maureen O’Hara, Randolph Scott and Nancy Kelly in the leading roles.
