DIPHTHERIA OUTBREAK

25 CASES MOW IN MASTERTON HOSPITAL. ST. PATRICK’S SCHOOL CLOSED. There are now 25 cases of diphtheria under treatment in the Masterton Hospital, 23 of them being pupils of St. Patrick's School. Practically, all the cases arc of an exceptionally mild nature. St. Patrick’s School has been closed meantime.

“Everything possible is being done to check the spread of infection,” said the Borough Sanitary Inspector, Mr T. A. RUssell today.
