SHEEP DOG TRIALS
GATHERING AT ALFREDTON
A RECORD ATTENDANCE. WINNERS OF EVENTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Alfredton Sheep Dog Trial Club held its fifth annual trials on Mrs M. J. Didsbury’s properly which had been lent for the occasion. The weather was perfect and there was a record attendance. The entries showed an increase on the previous years. The proceeds from the trials are to be given to the Patriotic Fund. Mr S. F. Herbert acted as judge for the huntaway, Mr L. D. Cameron for the heading events. Both judges commented on the high standard of work, and the efficient management of the trials.
The president (Mr W. L. Udy) and the secretary (Mr G. F. Higginson) on behalf of the club ,thanked Mrs Didsbury for the use of the grounds, Mr W. Edmonds for the sheep, Mr Herbert and Mr Cameron for acting as judges, the competitors for their patronage, and all others who supported the trials financially and otherwise, with special thanks to the ladies who attended to the catering.

Kerr’s Spot, 46 points, 3. Maiden Competitors: G. Kerr's Spot, 46 points, 1; C. P. Houard’s Glencoe, 45 points, 2; K. A. Wilton’s Jill, 424 points, 3. Zig Zag Huntaway (open): J. F. Wilsher’s Baldy, 434 points, 1; H. Herbert’s Toss, 43 points, 2; T. Harvey's Black, 42} points, 3. Maiden Competitors: J. Riddell’s Boss, 42} points, 1; B. Udy’s Rough, 42 points, 2; W. Bain’s Fly, 41} points, 3. Straight Huntaway (open): R. Davy s Joe, 44 points, 1; S. Smith’s Rag,. 43} points, 2; T. Harvey’s Black, 43 points, 3. Maiden Competitors: W. Bain’s Fly, 424 points, 1; D. Smith’s Nell, 414 points, 2; H. Herbert’s Mick, 404 points, 3.
