AGAINST SHERMAN TANKS. STUDIED BY PRINCIPAL PANZER EXPERT. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, June 17. General Guderian, Hitler's foremost panzer expert, is so impressed by American Sherman tanks that he has created a special regiment of captured Sherman’s to experiment in the best mpans of combating them. Reporting this, the Berlin correspondent of the Stockholm newspaper “Aftonbladet ” adds: “German experts praise the Shermans unreservedly. Experiments with captured tanks include an attack by Shermans and Russian T 34S against German tanks and anti-tank defences. Entirely new tactics* must be evolved regarding the Shermans, since it is foreseen that they will play a prominent part in invasion.”
