WEDDING
MYERS—McGOVERN. The marriage took place at the Lansdown Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon of Dorothy Jean, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs James McGovern, of Mauriceville, to Norman, third son of Mr and Mrs Harold Myers, Mauriceville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. David McNeur, and Mrs H. M. Morton presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated with hydrangeas and chrysanthemums. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr Arthur McGovern, wore a charming gown of white satin and lace with a gathered train at the back. Her tulle veil (lent by her sister) was caught up by a halo. She carried a shower bouquet of white cyclamen and heather. There were two bridesmaids, Misses Barbara Napier (Alfredton), chief, and Edna Cameron (Mauriceville), who wore pretty frocks of blue and pink ripple georgette, respectively, with halos of the same material. Their bouquets were of toning chrysanthemums. Corporal Arthur Myers was best man, and Mr Norman McGovern was groomsman. As the bridal party left the church the bride was presented with a silver miniature horseshoe by a niece. A reception was held at the Masonic Hall, where a large number of guests wer entertained. They were received by Mr and Mrs Myers, and Mr Arthur McGovern and Mrs A. Urquhart (sister of the bride). Mrs Myers wore a wine ensemble, with a fur coat, and Mrs Urquhart was attired in a scarlet suite. Both wore shoulder sprays of cyclamen. When Mr and Mrs Myers left by car for the north, the bride wore an Air Force blue costume with matching accessories. Their future, home will be at Mauriceville.
