GREYTOWN
S.M. COURT MONTHLY SITTING. (“Times-Age" Special.) Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., presided at the monthly sitting of the Greytown S.M. court yesterday. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the case of H. M, Morgan v. R. Mouatt, claim £1 Bs, costs 11s. T. W. Tregaskis, for having failed to carry a warrant of fitness in a motor car, was fined ss, with costs 10s. Renata Pirerc and James Harawera were charged with the theft of four gallons of petrol and were each fined £lO. Constable Gregor stated that the petrol had been syphoned out of a motor truck during the night. The Magistrate stated that he had been sentencing offenders for this class of offence to terms of imprisonment, but on account of the accused’s ages (18 years), he would inflict a fine only. Harold Charles Peterson, taxi driver, was fined £5 with costs 10s for having operated a motor car without having paid the full insurance premium under the Third Party Risks Act.

BOGEY COMPETITION DRAW. The following is the draw for the first round of the bogey competition to be played by the ladies at Greytown on Saturday:—Mrs Jury v. Miss _M. Maddison; Mrs Gold v. Miss R. The Grey town Fire Brigade are making every effort to ensure patrons enjoying themselves at the social gathering and dance on Friday.
