COURSING CLUB

LOSS OF HARES AT AKURA. The Wairarapa Coursing Club recently had the misfortune to lose a number of specially trained hares through stray dogs worrying them on the grounds at Akura. Four hares were killed in the “home” paddock enclosure while a number were injured. Two of these have since died. Apart from the actual loss of hares, the training of the other hares at Akura has been seriously interfered with as the result of the incident. It will now be necessary to net more hares and with this object in view a drive will be held on Sunday. The conveyance will leave at 10 o’clock from near the Masterton Park gates. . ■ ..... Ijgj
