4 WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETING OF COUNCIL IN MASTERTON. APPOINTMENT OF DELEGATES. A meeting of the Provincial Council of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in Masterton yesterday, Mrs Groves presiding. There were also present: Mesdames Beu, Wiggins (Greytown); Handcock, McNaulty (Eketahuna); Burch, O’Brien (Martinborough); Hay, James (Tinui); McKenzie, Couper (Carterton); Cheetham, Wilson (Mauriceville); Jackson, McLean (Masterton); James (Rangitumau); Brandon, Feist, Clark (Featherston); Misses Eager (Greytown), Harvey (Rangitumau), and Anderson (Eketahuna). Votes of sympathy were passed to the family of the late Mrs E. Allen, of Carterton, and the relatives of the late Mr J. G. Coates.

It was reported that there were still insufficient housekeepers to meet the demand. Mrs J. Andrew, the housekeepers’ secretary, gave an excellent report on the two permanent housekeepers, Miss Gibb and Miss Grey. She reported that there had been five applications for housekeepers this month.

The following delegates were appointed:—Dominion executive conference, Mesdames Groves, Maitland, Beu, and Barrer; delegate to the housekeeping conference, Mrs J. Andrew.

A vote of thanks was accorded to Miss E. Dagg, who supervised the morning tea arrangements.
