PERSONAL ITEMS ("Times-Age” Special.) Mr D. J. Mclntosh, Junr., Dannevirke, is visiting his parents . Amongst the members of the Maori Battalion who recently returned from the Middle East, was Private Major Rewi, who prior to his enlistment resided in this district for a number of years. Miss Lily Hutchison, who has been visiting friends in the Masterton and Carterton districts, will shortly take up a position as a trainee in one of the district hospitals. Sergeant • Wireless Officer T. Te Whaiti, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs J. Te Whaiti, for a long period residents of this district, has been visiting relatives in the Wairarapa. He has seen considerable service overseas, having taken part in raids over Germany and Italy and other enemy oc cupied territory. He has returned to New Zealand on special duty. Mr and Mrs H. Martin. Otaraia, have returned from a holiday spent at Wairoa.
Mrs Jeffery (nee Miss Jessie Hobbs) is on a visit to her parents. Private M. Lysnar, who recently returned from service overseas, is visiting his brother. Mr and Mrs King were recent visitors to Pirinoa.
