Personal, Mrs Hamilton is visiting friends in Carterton. Water to be Paid For. The district engineer of the New Zealand Railways has written to the Featherston Borough Council stating that the charge for the 198,000 gallons of water used by the department at Featherston would be paid. Christmas Day Pictures. At the monthly meeting of the Featherston Borough Council, Mr D. Flynn, manager of the Cosy Theatre was given permission to screen pictures on Christmas Day. Boy Scouts’ Shop Day. Permission has been granted by the Featherston Borough Council to the Boy Scouts to hold a “shop day” in the Wairarapa Trading Company’s building on a day to be fixed. Impounded Stock. Mr W. Houston wrote to the last meeting of the Borough Council complaining about some of his stock being impounded from the Domain. It was decided by the council that the matter was one between Mr Houston and the ranger. COSY THEATRE “DOCTOR AND THE DEBUTANTE.” Tonight there will be shown the outstanding drama, “The Doctor and the Debutante,” in which Lionel Barrymore, Lew Ayres, Ann Ayars and Jean Rodgers have the principal roles. It is a picture much above the ordinary and is the best of the Dr. Kildare series.
