MADE TO POVERTY BAY AIRMAN SQUADRON LEADER GRAY. TRIBUTE TO AGGRESSIVE LEADERSHIP. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON. June 16. The immediate award of the D.S.O. to an ace fighter pilot, Squadron Leader C. Gray, of Gisborne, is announced from .Allied headquarters in North Africa. Squadron Leader Gray has a score of 211 enemy aircraft destroyed. He took over the command of a squadron last January. The citation pays tribute to his aggressive spirit and leadership.
