ELECTIONS IN VICTORIA
LITTLE CHANGE IN STATE OF PARTIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE June 13. When counting ceased in the Victorian elections last night it was indicated that the Dunstan Country Party and the United Australian Party Government would continue in power. One Minister, Mr Hogan, is in danger of losing his seat. The strength of the new House is likely to be Country Party 26, which is a gain of one; Labour, 23, a gain of two; United Australia Party 12, a loss of four; Independent Labour, one; Independents three. Labour has definitely won one city seat from the United Australia Party, and appears likely to win one more from the U.A.P. and one from the Country Party. Another U.A.P. seat has probably gone to an Independent. However, the Country Party will probably win one rural seat from Labour and another at the expense of the U.A.P. On this line-up, the Country Party with the assistance of the U.A.P. will remain in power.
