LATE RATES MAINTAINED
AT CARTERTON SALE YESTERDAY PRACTICALLY A TOTAL CLEARANCE. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A small yarding o£ sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Fat hoggets, 225: fat wethers, 23s 255, 26s Id; fat b.f’s., 24s 3d; 2-th. wethers, 17s, 19s; small store b.f. 2-ths., 13s; b.f. hoggets, 14s Id, 14s sd, 16s 3d; woolly ewe hoggets, 13s; woolly wether hoggets, 9s 4d : cull hoggets, 4s; m.a. ewes, r.w. Romney ram, 14s 4d: f.m. ewes, r.w. Romney ram, 8s 6d. Cattle: Jersey cows on drop, g.s., £l3 5s to £l5; springing Jersey cows. £6 to £9 15s; Jersey heifers, r.w. bull, £7 10s to £7 12s Gel; fat heifers, £5 18s to £6; fat cows, £4 18s’ £5 12s to £5 18s; forward cows, £4. £4 7s 6d to £4 17s: store cows, £2 Bs. £2 12s Gd, £3 to £3 11s: cull cows. 10s to 275; cows and calves, to £4 4s; vealers, £3 to £3 12s Pigs: Baconers, to £4 4s: forward stores. 38s to £2 8s; stores. 23s to 245: slips, to 14s 6d.
