KAIPARORO

SOCIAL GATHERING AIRMAN ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age” Special.) L.A.C. Don Falkner was the guest of honour at a social gathering held in the Kaiparoro Hall. Friends were present from all the surrounding districts. The music for the dancing was supplied by Miss Madsen (piano), Jim Torrey (banjo) and Noel Dick (drums). The presentation of a well-filled wallet was made to L.A.C. Falkner by Mr Burton. Beautiful posies-were presented to Mrs Falkner (mother), Mrs Falkner (wife) and Mrs Jaspers (mo-ther-in-law). L.A.C. It will be remembered that about eighteen months ago this talented young man won the cup in the “Search for Talent” contest held in Palmerston North with his cowboy singing. Recitations were given by Miss P. Goggin and Miss E. Hansen, and much appreciated by the audience. The supper was a feature of the gathering, having been provided by the ladies of the district.

Novelty dances were won as follow:- —Lucky spot, Miss N. Dick and K. Isakson. Monte Carlo, Mr and Mrs F. Searancke. Personal. Mr and Mrs J. H. R. Dick, of Hastwells, have* received a cable stating that their son, Pte. Bryan Dick, is safe and well.
