LIBERTY LOAN
MASTERTON CONTRIBUTIONS % TOTAL NOW £66,950. PROGRESS OF LOCAL CAMPAIGN. The total amount subscribed in Masterton so far to the Third Liberty Loan is £66,950. Yesterday’s subscriptions totalled £8,760, including £lOOO from Messrs H. J. Jones and Co., Ltd. Among the advance subscriptions were £B,OOO from the Masterton Trust Lands Trust and £lO,OOO from Mr S. L. P. Free. FIRM AND STAFF CONTRIBUTIONS BY W.F.C.A. LTD. The management of the W.F.C.A. Ltd. has decided to invest £2,000 in the Third Liberty Loan. In addition, members of the staff are contributing to the loan. A meeting of the staff, held last night, was addressed by the general manager, Mr J. H. Cunningham. The pres’ent indications were that practically 100 per cent of the staff would respond to the appeal by taking up either stock or bonds. The firm decided to finance the purchase of bonds for a period up to 12 months, free of interest. Members of the staff were to decide today the amount they would be able to subscribe. Messrs J. Reed and C. R. Goodwin were appointed group collectors.
