FEATHERSTON
PLUNKET SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Featherston branch of the Plunket Society there were present Mesdames Q. Donald (in the chair), J. G. McKenzie, G. Yule, H. R. Bloxam, E. M. Wakely, Arch. Clark, G. S. Sharp, A. R. Robbins, J. G. Donald, M. Turner, Dean Burt, J. A. Halpin. A. S. Kilsby. R. W. Matthews, J. B. McKenna, D. C. Collins, V. Gooding and R. Mellish. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames E. M. Shepherd. Roy Donald, G. W. Brandon, R. N. Barton and F. C. Benton.
The Plunket Nurse, Miss M. G. Hitchman, submitted a very comprehensive report of her work during the year. The figures showed an increase on those of last year and that the work was being steadily continued throughout the district.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patroness, Mrs R .W. Matthews, re-elected; president, Mrs Q. Donald, re-elected; vice-presid-ents, Mesdames J. G. McKenzie, H. R. Bloxam and Arch Clark, re-elected; executive committee, Mesdames D. H. S. Riddiford, G. S. Sharp, H. R. Bloxam, J. G. McKenzie, Roy Donald. G. Yule and Max Turner (re-elected), G. Yule, R. N. Barton, E. M. Wakely, A. S. Kilsby and J. G. Donald; committee, Mesdames F. C. Benton, G. W. Brandon, J. R. Matthews, A. R. Robbins, J. A. Halpin, H. C. Hunter, Dean Burt (re-elected), V. Gooding and Stanley Benton; delegates to central committee. Mesdames R. N. Barton, J. G. McKenzie, H. R. Bloxam, R. W. Matthews, Arch Clark, E. M. Wakely and RoyDonald as proxy re-elected; advisory board, Messrs J. W. Card, R. W. Matthews, N. C. C. Shepherd, A. Campbell Pearce, J. G. Donald and Dr G. S. Sharp (re-elected);' auditor, Mr J. G. McKenzie (re-elected); secretary-trea-surer. Miss B. Currie (re-elected). At the conclusion of the general business Miss Woodhead, matron of Karitane Hospital, delivered an instructive talk on her work. She urged that every girl who possibly could should take the Karitane training course as it was a very big' and a tremendously important work. Many striking examples of what could be achieved by perseverance and good guidance were evidenced by the results. Miss Woodhead was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks.
