FEATHERSTON
PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) The funeral of the late Mrs Ivy Teresa Holland, who was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, took place at the Featherston cemetery yesterday afternoon, and was very largely attended. The Rev. J. R. Higgs officiated at the services in St. John’s Church, which was packed, and also at the cemetery The deceased, who was 52 years of age, was born in Featherston and had lived there all her life. She was a member of St. John’s Church and Guild, the Featherston and Haunui Croquet Clubs, and the Featherston Red Cross Society. She took a keen interest in all patriotic work. She leaves a husband and two sons, Joe (Greytown) and Dick Holland (Featherston). The pall-bearers were Messrs Frank White, R. R. P. Hardy, F. O’Neale, T. Tidswell, J. Anderson and J. Halpin. Among others, wreaths were sent by the Junior Patriotic Committee, the St. John’s Masonic Lodge, the staffs of the Masterton Post Office, Featherston Post Office, T. F. Watson and Co., and A. Johnston and Co., the Martinborough Fire Brigade, the Featherston Fire Board, St. John’s Ladies’ Guild, the Featherston Red Cross Society, and the staff of the Greytown Hospital.
