FOR MISUSE OF PETROL. A HASTINGS CASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, June 8. In the Magistrates’ Court before Mr J. Miller, S.M., the maximum fine of £lOO, in default three months’ imprisonment, was imposed on George Priest, Pukehou, who was charged with using petrol for a purpose other than that prescribed on his licence. Inspector Robinson in evidence said that when defendant’s private car running was checked it was found that an excessive mileage had been run for the amount of petrol granted. It was subsequently learned that there had been misuse of petrol by the defendant to the extent of 82 gallons in a little over three months.
