HIGH COMMAND
DISCUSSED BY FRENCH COMMITTEE AT ANOTHER MEETING IN ALGIERS. NEW MINISTER'S AT WORK. LONDON, June 8. In Algiers the French National Committee of Liberation held another meeting today. All the seven original members of the committee were present. They discussed the question of the High Command. Two of the newly-ap-pointed Ministers have already taken over their duties. THUMPING VICTORY WON BY DE GAULLISTS. ACCORDING TO AMERICAN COMMENTATOR. NEW YORK. June 7. The “New York Times” correspondent in Algiers. Drew Middleton, commentating on the formation of the Committee, says: “General De Gaulle has won a thumping political victory. General De Gaulle and his appointees are easily powerful enough to block and outvote General Giraud and his followers. However, there has been a slackening of De Gaulle’s political activities in the past five days, De Gaulle having merged his personality into the committee, is content to let the committee implement his plan rather than continue to stir up popular feeling.”
