FEATHERSTON

PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Junior Patriotic Committee held a very successful dance in the Town Hall last evening, there being a large attendance. The music was supplied by Mrs V. Ashton’s Orchestra, extras being played by several soldiers. Mr V. Ashton was M.C. The dancers spent a most enjoyable time, and were loud in their praise of the excellent management. A competition for a parcel of cigarettes was won by Mr P. Ritchie. The Junior Patriotic Committee provided an excellent supper, and are to be congratulated on the result of their efforts. The Junior Patriotic Committee has rendered splendid service in a patriotic sphere since its formation and has set an example of self-sacrifice and earnest endeavour which is worthy of emulation by all sections of the community. Personal Items. The Rev. J. W. Mutter and Mrs Mutter, Eketahuna, were the guests of Mr and Miss Mutter for a few days. Mrs Tulloch is visiting Wellington, and is staying with her daughter, Mrs D. Edwards. Miss Sue Piper has returned from a visit to Paekakariki. COSY THEATRE “NAZI AGENT.” Conrad Veidt and Ann Ayars will be seen tomorrow night in the sensational drama, “Nazi Agent,” a smashing spy story in which one brother masqueraded as the brother he hated in order to save the country he loved.
