TAUERU

TRIBAL COMMITTEE CONCERT AND DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Langdale Hall was well filled on Saturday night when the Tueru Tribal Committee held a very successful Maori War Effort concert and dance. The Hui Mai Maori Concert Party from Masterton gave a number of items which were much appreciated. Visitors from Tinui, Whakataki, Homewood and Masterion were present. and voted the gathering a most enjoyable one. The Maori girls’ interhouse team contributed well executed action songs and the Homewood Maoris gave a very spirited haka under the leadership of Messrs Hipa Morris and A. Waipuka. The Morris-Andrew Orchestra supplied the music. A waltzing competition was won by Mr W. Harding and Mrs Loader, the judges being Messrs C. Hayes and B. Morris.

The supper was supervised by the Taueru ladies’ supper committee.
