OBITUARY

MR JAMES GILL.

An old and respected resident of West Bush Road for the past 50 years, Mr James Gill, passed away at his residence at an early hour yesterday morning. Born in County Leitrim, Ireland, 85 years .ago, he came to New Zealand when he was 19 years of age, and settled in Christchurch, coming to . the Wairarapa shortly before his marriage. He had farmed a property at West Bush Road since that time. His wife predeceased him in 1917, and he is survived by a daughter and four sons—Miss M. J. Gill (West Bush Road), and Messrs T. P. (Hinds, Ashburton), J. M. (Hastings), A. J. (Avondale, Auckland), ahd B. W. Gill (Masterton).

The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving St. Patrick’s Church, following a. service at 2 p.m., for the Masterton Cemetery.
