SUCCESSFUL DANCE
PARCELS FOR MAORI SOLDIERS. •) GATHERING IN MASONIC HALL LAST NIGHT. There was a large attendance at a dance held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last night, under the auspices of the Maori girls’ interhouse team. The proceeds will be used to send parcels to local Maori soldiers in the Eighth Army. A new Maori orchestra played excellent music and proved most popular with patrons. Messrs L. Askew and F. Stains kept proceedings moving with a swing. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss Waireka Nini and Mr Toufata. The Maori girls’ team wishes to thank the orchestra for giving its services free of charge, the committee responsible for the supper arrangements and to all who assisted in any way in contributing to the success of the dance.'" *
