NEW ZEALAND FIGURES. TO END OF APRIL LAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Referring to the statement on Empire war casualties made by Mr Attlee in the House of Commons, the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) said today that the New Zealand figures in that statement were for the first three years of the war, to the end of August, 1942. The latest casualty figures, to the end of April, 1943, were: — Army. Deaths, 3,705. Missing, 530. Prisoners of war, 7,668. Wounded (including accidentally injured on active service), 10,351. Total, 22,254. Navy. Deaths, 299. Missing, 103. Prisoners of war, 28. Wounded, 66. Total, 496. Air Force. Deaths, 1,664. Missing, 339. Prisoners of war, 319. Wounded, 300. Total, 2,622. Grand Totals. Deaths, 5,668. Missng, 972. Prisoners of war, 8,015. Wounded, 10,717. Grand total, 25,372.
