Y.M.C.A. SECRETARY
MR. C. W. GAZE RESIGNS. OPTIMIST CLUB EXPRESSES REGRET. A motion placing on record the< splendid services rendered by the general secretary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A., Mr C. W. Gaze, during his term of office and an expression of regret that the Board of Directors had not met Mr Gaze’s request for additional assistance in view of the long and strenuous hours of work he had put in, was carried at last night’s meeting of the Masterton Optimist Club. Mr E. J. Esler, a member of the board said Mr Gaze was the best secretary the Y.M.C.A. in Masterton had yet had. He had always given loyal and cheerful service and visitors to the Y.M.C.A. were always made welcome. The board would experience great difficulty in getting a man of Mr Gaze’s ability. The secretary of the Optimist Club and others expressed regret that Mr Gaze was severing his connection with the Y.M.C.A. after rendering such sterling service In reply Mr Gaze said he would keenly miss his connection with the Y.M.C.A. in Masterton but would always do his best for Y.M.C.A. work.
